Why US is friendly to Saudi Arabia?

Saudi citizens dislike America, but their government is one of the staunchest US supporters. They supply the US oil (life blood) at lower than market rates and they fight to protect the USD as the official currency of oil. This is all that is required for the US government to be your best friend. They've been granted a license to kill. Israel is also licensed.
