Question about gold finch families?

Could be. I once had a mother starling bring her three baby starlings to our suet feeder. The babies, even though they were old enough to fly, just sat there and cried until she fed them in turn. They stayed for three days, until the cake was gone, and we were glad to see them go- the constant crying was really annoying! -Neb
