Do muslims believe it is the time of Imam Mehdi and how will they recognise him?

Only Shia Muslims believe in this and Imam Mehdi. Whilst Sunni Muslims disagree with these beliefs being or having anything to do with Islam. Which is true seeing as this was all added after the prophet Muhammed (PBUH) died. Therefore it is not accepted by Islam or a part of Islam.
