Are there other (pregnant) women out there who are just grossed out by the birth delivery process?

I'm at 31 weeks now and starting to try and get as ready as I can for delivery and though I now see it as a normal, natural thing, I'll admit that it still grosses me out every bit as much as it did when I was a teen (I'm27). I still get nausiated and almost faint if I try to look at photos of or videos of births. I guess I want to know I'm not the only one and also, how do I convey to my midwife and her istant that I'm not the sort of person to benifit from detailed descriptions or cles. I would be much happier reading a book where I can skip the gory/scary stuff. One of them is really pushing me to go to cles to "relieve my anxiety" but I have every confidence it would not only add to it but waste my time energy and money. Anyone got helpfull advice for a non-tree-hugger/non-hippy woman to psyc myself into dealing with the gore and just get through delievery efficiantly? *yes this is my 1st (probabley last/only)
